ERIC cHAN

Pianist | Educator | Collaborative pianist

As a pianist

Based in Vancouver, I am an emerging pianist with performance appearance across Canada, Italy, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Alongside performing, I enjoy reflecting on performance practice and writing about the ideas and discoveries that continue to shape my approach to music-making

As a teacher

I have maintained a private teaching studio for over ten years, offering piano and music theory instruction within the RCM and ABRSM curricula. My teaching philosophy centers on understanding each student as an individual and creating a supportive, collaborative learning environment that fosters confidence, curiosity and musical growth

as a collaborative pianist

I work closely with students and musicians in a range of collaborative settings, including examinations, chamber ensembles and vocal repertoire. My experience includes performances as a harpsichordist and répétiteur. I value collaboration as a space for shared listening and communication
